Support with Medication Management to help you better understand them and how they are used.

Medications can be important in the management of mental health issues, whether for a short time or for ongoing stabilization of symptoms. It’s essential to keep in mind that medications don’t cure mental health conditions. While they can alleviate symptoms or reduce their impact, discontinuing them may lead to symptom recurrence. If you experience any concerns or discomfort regarding your mental health medication, it’s crucial to discuss them with your doctor or counselor. There are six main classes of mental health medications we use to treat symptoms associated with a variety of conditions.

  • Antidepressants – used to treat depression, anxiety and some types of personality disorders
  • Antipsychotics – used to treat schizophrenia and sometimes bipolar disorder and to help restore your brain’s chemical balance
  • Mood Stabilizers – often used to treat people with bipolar disorder
  • Depressants – used to help people become or stay calm.
  • Anxiolytics – often used to treat anxiety disorders
  • Stimulants – are prescribed for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) treatment.
